'The Sunday Soul Sessions'
Sunday's Midday - 2pm
At heart I have always been a soul, jazz funk and reggae fan and whilst going through those problematic late teenage years, music gave me a 'purpose' in life. Looking back my favourite artists/groups were first and foremost Earth Wind and Fire and the iconic album and artists including Dennis Brown, Maxi Priest, Barrington Levy to name a few. Growing up in the east end of London (a true cockney) my love of reggae started from visiting those true ;sound system; venues in Brixton and Stockwell, finally getting to see the legend Bob Marley at Sunsplash in Victoria Park Bethnal Green. Lately I have developed a passion and love of House music in all forms, jackin, soulful and funky including a rapidly growing love of Latin Afro House which to me has an incredible beat that makes us feel alive.
A cliche’ and profound I know but “music is the food of life”, for me music is my life, provoking memories which can lift the spirit to a happy state of mind, to me music has a part to play in most people’s lives whatever the genre, we all have that special track that just does it for us. I absolutely love being part of the Soulconnexion Radio family and although through work having been fortunate to travel the world meeting some wonderful people, the experience of meeting with our listeners, wherever you are in the world, has been an amazing rewarding experience, thank you all for those memories you wonderful people. I continue to DJ supporting and donating my fees to the Stroke Foundation, A charity close to my heart and with profound significance to my family.
